No Family Night (Again)

So what did we do last Monday night? We spent it at labor and delivery of coarse. Not for contractions but for my blood pressure. It spiked way too high and stayed there for two long. Of coarse by the time we drove down to the hospital, filled out the paperwork, and waited for a room to open up it was back down. It probably helps that they take my blood pressure while I am lying down which of coarse is gonna make it go down!

I did want to share something with you though. It is my own little story of an answered prayer. I had been hurting a lot lately and having a hard time breathing. I told the Doc and it is a common problem during pregnancy. Well for me it was freaking me out! I couldn't sleep and was just starting to get paranoid.

I prayed and prayed all night long that God would help me breathe. The next morning my belly looked different. The baby hadn't dropped yet but yet  he moved just enough so that I could breathe easier again! Talk about an answer to my prayers! I thankful for a loving God who hears and answers my prayers. Sometimes the answer is no but he has a plan for me and my life and I trust him to guide it.

Prayer

Prayer:

Song: I Pray in Faith, Children’s Songbook pg 14

Lesson:

Read the excerpt from the March 2009 Friend Magazine
“What should I know about Prayer?”
"We may pray to him anytime. Prayers can be offered in silence. One can think a prayer.  A loving Father in heaven wants to hear from His children. Through prayer, we can show our love for God. We pray privately, with our families regularly, at mealtime and in daily activities. Jesus revealed that we pray to a wise Father who knows what things we have need of, before we ask him."

Activity: Making a Prayer Sandwich

Dessert: Brownies

~~No FHE~~

On Saturday night Mike took  David to the ER. He was admitted because of dehydration. So on Monday night they were still in the hospital. I was sick myself at home with two sick little girls. Oh the joys of the Rotavirus .

The Prophet Said to Plant a Garden

Prayer:

Song: The Prophet Said to Plant a Garden

(I used a flip chart because we didn't know the song.)

Scripture: D&C 59:18

18 Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the abenefit and the buse of man, both to please the eye and to cgladden the heart;

Reading: From Prophet Spencer W Kimball said, : “We encourage you to grow all the food that you feasibly can on your own property.”… “Make your garden as neat and attractive as well as productive. If there are children in your home, involve them in the process with assigned responsibilities.” …Keep in good repair and beautify your homes, your yards, farms, and businesses. Repair the fences. Clean up and paint where needed. Keep your lawns and your gardens well-groomed. Whatever your circumstance, let your premises reflect orderliness, beauty, and happiness.

Activity: Plant Plants and Color in Vegetable Labels.

So my idea for FHE tonight was inspired by the Root View Farm and an old aquarium that we had. Mike dumped out all of the water and filled it with potting soil. We left the gravel in the bottom for drainage. (I hope it works!) Any who the kids had a blast and so did I :)
